Hoosier Herp Lab was started in 2022 with a goal to produce the highest quality and variety of day gecko species available in the United States. We are constantly adding new geckos to our collection and are always looking for new genetics.

Over the years many species of gecko have vanished from the captive hobby. Species that used to be abundant and commonly on the market are no longer such. Many Phelsuma species have met this fate. It is our mission to obtain and breed as many species as possible to further preserve these animals in the captive industry, ensuring they’re here to stick around, while also declining the amount of wild caught imports that are obtained and sold.

We have expanded our breeding efforts drastically over these last few years. All of our animals are carefully paired together and monitored 24/7. All of our enclosures are bio-active and misted 3 times a day to ensure humidity and hydration needs are met. Enclosure temperatures and UVB index are also regularly monitored. All of our geckos are on a strict feeding schedule to ensure we keep track of each individuals eating habits. We are firm believers that quality always outweighs quantity. Shortcuts can be costly and problematic, so we do our best to ensure all care is top-notch. Happy geckos produce healthy babies!
